Full Review:
Scooby Doo is a movie based on the hit cartoon series about Mystery Inc.'s adventures. The movie takes place on Spooky Island, where Mystery Inc joins forces again (after having a falling out 2 years prior), to find out who is haunting the amusement park. Young college students are coming loud and obnoxious and leaving quiet and crazy!
The best compliment this movie could hope to receive, is that its a family movie. ITS NOT! Its a small children's movie that should only be enjoyed by small kids and big fans of the cartoon (most of who will probably be disappointed). This isn't the kind of movie parents want to take their kids to... this is the kind of movie some parents pay a baby sitter to take their kids to!
This probably goes without saying, but I'm going to say it anyway; The acting in this movie was terrible. I've seen a few movies with Freddy Prinze and some with Matthew Lillard, even some with both of them. I've never seen them worse. But I guess its pretty hard to try and play a dopey cartoon character! I'd even expect more from Sarah Michelle Gellar!
CGI is a pretty amazing thing! You can have a whole movie starring a character made with CGI that put into a live action film. But, (as I feel about most special effects) sometimes they're overused! The most important thing about special effects, is making them look real, making them fit into the movie. I'd rather see less effects then a movie that looks fake! how's that commercial go? "Just because you have the power, doesn't mean you should use it!"
One funny thing about this movie, was that I didn't laugh once! None of the jokes were funny at all! You'd think they could have found some humor that would target people over the age of 5! Fart jokes just don't interest me anymore!
In conclusion, the effects in this movie were pretty cool... But nothing else would interest anyone who has passed puberty!

hr. 27 min. Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang take their animated antics to the big screen as a live-action movie. In this story, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy have a bit of a falling out and go their separate ways, but they're drawn back together again by fate, in this case taking the form of the mysterious Spooky Island amusement park and the strange behavior being exhibited by the young visitors to the attraction. This is a case that only the Mystery Machine gang can tackle - if only they can get over their differences.
MPAA Rating: PG for some rude humor, language and some scary action.
